Patapon 2 tops PSP sales in debut week

Surprisingly enough, Patapon 2 has led the PSP charts in its debut in North America despite the empty box offering.  Patapon 2 is offered exclusively in NA via the PlayStation Network (PSN) digital distribution scheme. Fans can buy the Patapon 2 ‘download voucher’ — basically a UMD case with a voucher inside detailing how to download the game, along with a printed manual sans the UMD itself.

If an empty UMD case does not tickle your fancy, you can always opt for the European release of the game (still in UMD!) if you can cough up $44 for it (excluding shipping costs) via Amazon.co.uk.

Other games in the weekly chart:

1. Patapon 2 (SCEA)
2. God of War: Chains of Olympus (SCEA)
3. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (Square Enix)
4. Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (Rockstar)
5. Sega Genesis Collection (Sega)

Watch out for the game impressions later.
