The Nintendo Download (Week of June 1st): Your Father’s Name is Cecil!? — Updated
E3 has started So let’s make this snappy..
Delivering true to it’s promise, Squenix’ Final Fantasy IV: The After Years is now available for download on WiiWare. This game is the direct sequel to Final Fantasy IV and was only initially available in Japan for mobile phones.
The game follows the story of Ceodore — Rosa and Cecil’s son. Here’s my 800 points, Nintendo. Thanks.
UPDATE: jayz from pinoy-n confirms that aside from the 800 point main game of FFIV: The After Years, you can also download seperate “Character Tales” for 300 points each. These are independent side stories for some characters and you don’t have to finish the main game to play them. Currently, “Rydia’s Tale” is already available for download in the Wii Shop Channel with more to come in the coming weeks (seven in all).
UPDATE: A new chapter called “The Crystals” is going to be released which will require a completed game save of the main game to play.
Another notable WiiWare release is Texas Hold’em Tournament by Digital Leisure which is the first to bring an online multiplayer poker to Wii.
DSiWare and Virtual Console titles this week are pretty much on the lame side of the download spectrum so just hit the break for the full list and official descriptions from Nintendo.
