Bionic Commando Rearmed Update: Now with Trophies!
Bionic Commando Rearmed (aka best PSN/XBLA game ever – let’s just forget that the next-gen Bionic Commando abortion never existed, shall we?) just got a huge update today, according to the PlayStation Blog. In it are a couple of gameplay-related changes, with a new and less-challenging “Normal” mode being added, and a couple of bug fixes for Super Joe’s machine gun. Also added was the long-overdue trophy support, thanks to the vocal majority over at the Capcom Unity boards. No word yet if this’ll be retroactive, but if it isn’t I’d be pissed – I already blew threw the game on Elite Commando and have no future plans on going through that torture again.
Bionic Commando: Rearmed is $9.99 on the PlayStation Store — sorry suckers, should’ve gotten it when it was $5! — but it’ll probably be the best $10 you’ll spend on the system, guaranteed! Checklist of fixes is right after the cut!
New “Normal” difficulty setting. In this setting, the following changes are made:
- When you die, you respawn at the last solid ground or checkpoint
- The level Albatross B was cut
- The ability to reel out the cable when hanging or swinging to its full length
- If the player swings into a wall, they will no longer disconnect and be thrown away from the wall. Instead, they will keep connected and reel in
- Unlimited lives
Super Joe Machine Gun bug fix:
- When upgraded, the weapon also becomes more powerful in addition to the larger clip
- Fixed for all difficulty levels.

Oh yeah! Time to play!
Uhmm.. when is this? I checked just now and there’s no update.
