The game, titled Front Mission Evolved, was previously thought to be an SRPG following in its predecessors’ roots. However the magazine scans confirm the unexpected; Front Mission Evolved will be an action-shooter.

Hoping to attract a larger Western audience this time around Square-Enix employed Double Helix Games, a U.S. based company and developers of the recently released Silent Hill: Homecoming, to aid in its transition from a strategic game into a more action oriented TPS.

Here’s to hoping Double Helix Games doesn’t screw this up.
